These Terms govern bookings made with HandymanNear.ca, operated by Professional Sources Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). By booking a service you agree to these Terms and to our booking terms and cancellation policy, which forms part of them.
HandymanNear.ca is a home services company. We carry out the work ourselves, using our own tradespeople. When you book with us, your contract is with Professional Sources Inc. — not with an individual worker. We are responsible for the work we do, and our workmanship is guaranteed: if something we have done is not right, tell us and we will put it right.
We hold the licences required for the work we perform and carry liability insurance. Electrical work is carried out by a licensed electrician, and where a permit is required we obtain it. If a job turns out to need a trade or a permit we cannot provide, we will tell you and will not charge you for work we have not done.
The estimate shown on our website is calculated from the details you give us and is re-checked on our server, so the figure you see is the figure we quote. It is an estimate: the final price is confirmed with you on site before any work begins. If the job is materially different from the one described, we will tell you the revised price and you may decide whether to go ahead, at no charge.
Some jobs carry additional charges, each shown as its own line on your quote before you pay — for example a call-out fee, an urgency surcharge if you choose Priority or Emergency scheduling, or a travel charge for jobs on Vancouver Island.
A deposit confirms your booking and reserves your arrival window; the slot is not held until it is paid. The deposit is 30% of the quoted total for most bookings, and 50% for jobs on Vancouver Island, where we commit to a ferry crossing in advance. The exact amount is shown before you pay.
The remaining balance is due on completion and may be paid by card through your booking page, or by cash or e-transfer. We will issue an invoice for every job.
Our booking terms and cancellation policy sets out how changes, cancellations and refunds work, including what happens to your deposit. Those terms are shown and accepted when you book, and the version you agreed to is recorded against your booking.
Please make sure we can reach the work area and that someone aged 18 or over is present, or that access has been arranged. If we attend and cannot get access, the visit is treated as a same-day cancellation. We may decline or stop work where we believe it would be unsafe or unlawful to continue, and we will explain why.

Please do not misuse this website — by submitting false information, attempting to interfere with it, or using it for unlawful purposes.
We are responsible for carrying out your job with reasonable care and skill, and for putting right defects in our workmanship. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults we did not cause, or for losses that were not a reasonably foreseeable result of our work.
Except where the law does not permit it to be limited, our total liability for any one job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you have under the British Columbia Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act or other applicable consumer protection law, and nothing limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Tell us first. Email info@handymannear.ca or call us, and we will try to put it right. We would far rather fix a problem than argue about it, and most issues are resolved the same week.
We may update these Terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you booked, and the booking terms you accepted are recorded against your booking.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
