These Terms govern your use of the HandymanNear app and services, operated by Professional Sources Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
HandymanNear is a marketplace that connects customers seeking home repair and improvement services with independent local handymen ("Pros"). We provide the platform; we do not perform the services ourselves. Pros are independent contractors, not our employees or agents, and we do not guarantee any Pro’s work.
You must be at least 18. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
When you book, you pay a deposit (currently 30% of the estimate) through the app via Stripe. The deposit confirms your booking and helps us dispatch a Pro. The remaining balance is arranged and paid directly between you and the Pro, outside the app. In-app estimates are indicative; final pricing is agreed between you and the Pro.
To accept jobs you must apply and be approved. You agree to provide accurate information, to hold any licences and insurance required by law for your work, and to perform work professionally and lawfully. You are an independent contractor, solely responsible for your work, taxes, and compliance.
Deposits are handled according to our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
You agree not to misuse the service, including by providing false information, harassing others, circumventing payments, or using the service for unlawful purposes.
The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service arranged through the platform. Any dispute about work performed is between the customer and the Pro, although we may help facilitate a resolution at our discretion.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Professional Sources Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of customers or Pros. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the deposits you paid through the app in the three months before the claim.
You agree to hold harmless Professional Sources Inc. from claims arising out of your use of the service, your work (if a Pro), or your breach of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
